Foodelicious Wholesale and Foodelicious Store were born 15 years ago from a big passion for food. Not only food but great food. The company brings high-quality ingredients to food lovers to create outstanding dishes and it’s growing incredibly fast. By importing goods from small producers in southern Europe and abroad, Foodelicious distributes products directly to consumers and to other resellers (physical and digital stores) all over the Benelux.
The company’s IT infrastructure consists of the Monta WMS system to manage the warehouse activities and of two separate Exact Online ERP environments for the B2B and B2C channels.
The data centralization data is more important than ever because nowadays there are a lot of new systems that e-commerce companies can implement.

By working with all these systems, it wasn’t easy for the team to properly manage information for over 3000 products with over 90 data fields for each product. Essential information such as expiration dates, allergens, and ingredients comes from different suppliers, and importing this data multiple times in multiple systems led to errors and duplicate content on the sales channels and resulted in a heavy workload for the team members.
We had to import our product data in the WMS, two times in Exact (ERP), and two times in our webshops. If we decided to make a minor change or there was an error, it was a waste of time due to the repetitive manual work. The incorrect data was leading to a waste of money and energy to keep up with the wrong product information on all systems and channels. The team was overloaded with the manual work on the product data.

By collaborating with Semso, the partner specializing in links and integrations, KatanaPIM is now connected with both the ERP environments and the WMS system. It is now easy for the team to manage all kinds of data and let the information seamlessly flow from beginning to end.
We have fixed data and we have creative data. The fixed data comes from the supplier. And for the creative data, we have in our team content writers that create the descriptions for our B2B and B2C channels. For the pictures, we either get them from suppliers or our graphic designer makes our own photos and visuals.

The basic product data is now automatically mapped and imported into KatanaPIM; after coming to life, basic product data is shared with Exact and Monta WMS, while the full and enriched product information is correctly distributed to the webshops and resellers. The team is now working together to complete the product data with rich descriptions that help them sell their products efficiently and that reflect their brand identity.
I was aiming to have a great organization and a centralized solution to work harmoniously with the team and have simple and quick exports to also help suppliers. I believe that simple product data is key. PIM is key. Before, we had to gather the information from 4 systems, because the recommended selling price is in the B2C webshop, the allergens in another database, and so on.

Helping his team smoothly work together is a must for Herman, but so is helping the resellers.
Working with a single source of truth for product data definitely improves the internal organization, and also helps the external parties. By easily exporting the product information from KatanaPIM, Foodelicious’ team can now make sure that each reseller receives data in a short time and with no errors.
Another interesting part is the difference between the B2B and B2C content: with KatanaPIM’s features, the right information can easily be shared to the consumers' website, with accurate data that speaks directly to the direct buyers, with recipes and tips, and to the resellers’ websites, with practical information such as recommended pricing and selling tips.
By bottling their own vinegar and olive oil, Foodelicious also works with white labels. The next step for them will be being able to create exports from the PIM with custom templates to directly print labels with their own product information.
So, for now, full control of product data is the biggest dream for the team at Foodelicious, but it doesn’t stop here: they are aiming to grow even bigger!
We are so fast growing in the Netherlands and in Belgium. For now, our ambition is to have full control of what we have. Control our product data, our growth, and our quality. Then, but this is for later, a bigger online store, several webshops, and more private labels for bigger clients.
